Kaito was going for a walk outside of the gate boundaries by the mist village. As he walked, he spotted a small pond somehow glimmering in the light that shone through the mist. As he walked up to it, he spotted 4 medium sized pond trout. Kaito was second guessing whether or not he should have brought a chair and a fishing rod to this little pool of water. A small frog bounced around on the floating lily pads, Kaito bent down, and picked the toad up.
The toad looked at Kaito with deep black eyes, like it had no other purpose in life but to bounce around and get rid of the pestering flies. It looked much like a robot, only programmed to do that one simple task, and then at the end of its time, the frog would just whither away as God would make new ones to fill his place and get re-programmed to do the same boring thing.
Kaito plopped the small toad back down on its lily pad, and it bounced away for some unknown cause. He stood up, stretched his back, and itched his forehead. Kaito began to walk down the road, and found a more deeper pond, a small lake, and then walking down the same road but farther, he found the ocean that the lake would have been fed by.
Kaito accumulated enough chakra into his feet to stay afloat the water, and started to walk onto it as he thought back about the toad,
"I wonder if I am like that toad, is my only purpose to act as a mist ninja? To protect my village and then die? To attack other helpless villages just for the soul purpose to gain wealth?" As all these different questions raced through his mind he heard something in the bush behind him off the shore and in the jungle where the toad had jumped away to.
Kaito couldn't figure out what this human shaped figure wanted, but one thing was for sure, he definitely not here to sit down with Kaito and talk about old times while they ate a bowl of cupped noodles. Kaito tensed his guard up a little bit, and tried to tell if this man had any kind of a large chakra inside of him.
It wasn't bad, it was about the same size as Kaito's but a little bit smaller, as this man was sure to have more strength then brains seeing as he left some of his cloak visible to the eye of Kaito. Kaito did not like to fight, he tended to stay on the more laid back side, but was an exceptional fighter, good enough to be one of the renown swordsmen of the mist, and for his life was worth fighting for. Whether he was programmed to or not. This is just the way Kaito is.
