The Kuraikage’s office was a black room always kept at 10 degrees Fahrenheit by the kage himself. The only window in the room lay looking out at the village below, and was barred shut with rusted iron. In front of the window lay a large desk made of an unidentifiable black stone which housed several small stacks of neatly folded documents and was surrounded by several desk chairs made of what seemed to be the same material. Carpeted with three inches of black sand the room was adorned with several seemingly healthy plants unique to the country, as well as a dozen or so odd ornaments made of what seemed to be bone.
Arphee lay half strewn on the desk twisting his body with the upper part of the chair, his face flat against the desks cold surface. He let out a sigh of boredom having completed the entire days workload already, as he had done every day since taking his position.
It fell on him to sign and file the cities paperwork, as well as to assign missions both on request, and forcibly. Kurogakure having an almost Frontier like existence made these missions a dire necessity. Nearly all the resources used in the town are recycled from now abandoned and decrepit cities in what used to be the southern half of the wind country.
The great majority of Vegetation gone and the wild life scarce hunting parties provided the bulk of food for the city. Being a newly formed city the great majority of mission contracts was internal, the small portion left were usually mercenary in nature.
As he worked over the nature of the village in his head he stared at the door waiting for something, anything to happen.
